Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia:

There is a way to a better night’s sleep.

In this presentation, Kris Bohnstedt-Thorn will explore the prevalence of insomnia; define insomnia as a DSM 5 diagnosis; explore screening and assessment tools for differentiating who is and is not a good candidate for CBT-I; and take a brief look at the protocol itself.

Objectives:

  1. Review diagnostic criteria for insomnia disorder
  2. Provide prevalence rates for insomnia
  3. Provide an overview of CBT-I
  4. Learn screening and assessment tools

About the Speaker:

Kris Bohnstedt-Thorn has been working in the mental health and addictions field for 14 years. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and has her Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) Certification. Mrs. Bohnstedt-Thorn participated in an intensive three day training and four month mentoring program to become certified CBT-I provider for the Veteran’s Administration.
