The mission of Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana (MHANI) is to promote the mental and emotional health of our community by offering advocacy, education, support services, and hope.

We envision a community that embraces individuals with mental health challenges, promotes recovery, and fosters wellness.

As part of an organization dedicated to serving our community, MHANI employees and our work are guided by these five principles:

  • Motivation: We are committed to building a caring, encouraging, and supportive community. We share a responsibility to support mental and emotional well-being and enrich lives.

  • Hopefulness: We strive to strengthen and uplift individuals, families, and youth through life-changing mental health education, advocacy, and support services.

  • Accountability: We lead with honesty, transparency, and humility, holding ourselves accountable to our decisions and actions at all levels of our organization.

  • Navigation: We are guided by our mission and efficiently respond to the changing needs of the community while continually delivering high-quality services.

  • Inclusion: We embrace our differences with openness and respect in order to develop and nurture a culture where everyone feels valued and accepted.

We are an independent, tax exempt organization that serves Northeast Indiana residents. We are an affiliate of the national Mental Health America, the country’s oldest and largest organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness.

According to Mental Health America National, more than 80 percent of people who are treated for depression improve.
