Exercise: some people hate it, some people love it, but there’s no denying that it’s part of a healthy lifestyle. Then how come exercise can be #riskybusiness?

As usual, it’s all in the amount of exercise. Too little exercise, and you may experience weight gain, lethargy, and other health issues. Too much exercise, and you may experience dehydration, arthritis, fractured bones, and even heart problems.

So what’s the sweet spot?

Adults should engage in either 150-300 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic activity (raised heart rate, light sweating, can talk but not sing) or 75-150 minutes of vigorous intentiy aerobic activity (signficantly raised heart rate, heavy sweating, can only say a few words at a time) per week. Adults should conduct muscle-strengthening activities 2 or more days per week.

This amount of exercise should be integrated into a healthy lifestyle. While dangerous in extreme amounts, exercise done right can make a world of difference for your body.
