Our Mission and Values
Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana’s (MHANI) mission is to promote the mental and emotional health of our community by offering advocacy, support services, education, and hope. This mission serves as the foundation for everything that MHANI does, and has for the past 65 years of the organization’s existence.
We value recovery, acceptance, and compassion above all else. Fundamentally, we believe that while mental health conditions are common and recurrent, they are treatable and recovery is possible.
We also believe in the B4Stage4 philosophy, meaning that our goal is the prevention and early detection of mental health conditions before they escalate into a crisis.

Parent Cafe Host (Part-time)
The Parent Café Host ensures the best outcome for participants by facilitating Parent Café gatherings with fidelity to the Parent Café model. The role of the Host is to foster relationships with Café participants and to serve as liaison between program participants, host sites, and the Parent Café Coordinator. The Parent Café Host should be connected to the community and have an intimate understanding of local culture and current issues.

Mental Health Gatekeeper Training Instructor (Full-time)
This is a dynamic training position! As an AmeriCorp member, the trainer will work at the host site, Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana. The incumbent will provide and coordinate training with the aid of the host site supervisor.
AmeriCorps Members will serve as instructors for host site identified evidence-based/ informed programs, certifying members of the public. AmeriCorps Members are trained as instructors in select programs as designated by the specific host site. Programs may include Mental Health First Aid, QPR, SafeTALK or a pre-approved evidence-based/ informed program by Health360.
